Team Joyce went to Port Phillip Showjumping Summer Classic on the 11th and 12th Feb.

The sand/grass arena was superb the committee have done a fine job making sure the

surface was right for 2 days of jumping. There were large numbers of riders in all classes

and Mr Gavin Chester from Stratford built courses to suit all levels.

Wes rode LH King Arthur in the Omega Feeds D Grade on Saturday and had one rail.

He travelled alot more evenly and smoother on his corners but needs more rounds

to gain more practice.

Then LH Beckham was ridden in the Bellmark Farmhand C & D Grade and placed 1st!

1st place to Wes and LH Beckham , and the judge Annie White presenting the ribbon in a sudden down pour of rain.

On the Sunday LH Beckham had one time fault in the Ponderossa 1.20m

Championship and placed 6th and had one rail in the Melbourne Equine

Open 1.25m Speed but also placed 6th. LH Beckham was a super star on

Team Joyce’s truck!

Now a weekend of rest and then off to Berwick Agricultural Show  on the 25th Feb.

LH Titan

Thursday Feb 9, 2012

LH Titan lives on and is also performing extremely well.

Not only has he knocked up a Silver Medal in the Youth Olympics

but now a Gold one from the  CSIY-B in Singapore 3-5 February.

Recently Zoe Bolton from Sale went to Singapore to compete in Showjumping

on borrowed horses. LH Titan was bred by Team Joyce and ridden by Tiffany

Joyce for many years before we sold him for the Youth Olympics in Singapore

in 2010.

Zoe rode perfectly to win the Individual Section she was well out in front

with a double clear clean fastest round.

Team Joyce would like to congratulate Zoe on her fantastic feat, Zoe

is a Young Rider with a huge natural talent for riding all types of horses

at all levels.

L.H. Priscilla

At the age of fourteen I am lucky enough to co-own L.H. Priscilla! She is a beautiful grey mare who is four years old and constantly fought over in our horse-sharing (or stealing) family.

L.H. Priscilla (Bella) is a ‘super cute’ mare who tries very hard and is lots of fun to ride! She is a spooky horse and this creates a HUGE jump!

She has the most gorgeous temperament. She is gentle and affectionate and loves cuddles. She tries her hardest, and when she is scared she puts her trust in you, and just jumps!

Bella is very capable in showjumping and eventing. She has performed very well in both so far.

She won her first one day event at Rosedale in Grade Five level, when she had just turned four. This was after producing a cute dressage test and was double clear in showjumping and cross-country!

She then competed at Corner Inlet Pony Club Showjumping Day in E Grade and won Reserve Champion. This was after she won her first round, was fourth in her second round and second in her last round.

She was then accidentally entered into the Grade Three section for the Victorian Interzones Championships Horse Trials. So, in preparation we entered her in the Bacchus Marsh Horse Trials in the Grade Three section. ‘Bella’ stepped up to the challenge and, after the Dressage test she was placed midfield. She went on to complete double clear cross-country and show jumping which included jumping a big roll top and drop into the water. This catapulted us up the leader board and into fourth position.

She went to Werribee for the Interzones Horse Trials and completed a nice dressage test placing midfield. She went through the cross-country easily and completed the three part water jump and trakenher easily.

As Bella stepped forward to enter the indoor showjumping arena a horse cantered right past her nose!! She got out of there quick fast!! She entered the ring led by my mum… it was VERY scary! However, after becoming more relaxed Bella only had enough time to jump one practice fence before doing her round. She began her round and she was TERRIFIED!! However, she trusted me and when I told her to jump, she jumped!

‘Bella’ has since competed in the Loch-Nyora junior show jumping day in D Grade. She won her first round, was third in her second round, and had an unfortunate rail in her last round.

Bella is unfazed by ditches and actually seems to like them! She doesn’t mind water but thinks it can be scary, it seems to have an ‘ENTER WITH CAUTION’ sign on it, but she always goes straight in!

I love L.H. Priscilla because she is an excellent performer and most of all affectionate and gentle!

Sale WCup

Wednesday Nov 30, 2011

Sale World Cup show was a great weekend. Everyone was there!

The organisers had done a superb job in making sure everyone was happy.

Numbers were huge and still they ran on time. Course designer Leeson Serritt

created wonderful courses and the winners came out of the ring with massive smiles.

Team Joyce took 3 horses, LH Beckham, LH King Arthur and LH Brittany.

We decided to make our own yards at this show which turned out for us not so good.

On Friday Wesley rode LH Beckham in the C Grade and jumped a super first round

only to have a fence down in the jump off. LH King Arthur was very fresh in the D Grade

and had the very last fence down, the A & B combination was just to tight for him

to get out of and being so green still he just clipped the last. Tiffany rode LH Brittany

beautifully and also made the Jump off in the Young Rider but also had just one fence down.

Team Joyce did well with 4 faults today, but we are very happy with our horses and looked

forward to Saturday. But the rain came down, yes it rained quote alot. Our yards were

quite wet and our horses looked at us when we awoke to say” What are we doing in this

wet, I should be in my stable”.

Team Joyce heard over the P.A that the first 2 classes were cancelled so they could run the

Mini Prix and World Cup, so with that in mind and Ring 2 looking a tad wet for King Arthur

we packed up our yards and loaded to go home. The horses eagerly walked into there

stables and ate there hay and then laid down to sleep! Very Happy Horses…. “dry and warm”.

Tatura Showjumping Story

Friday Aug 5, 2011

Well what a great venue, very impressive with many stables and water and power at all trucks” now that was special.

The Junior Showjumping committee ran a fantastic event over the 2 days. It seemed as though riders came from every where to compete. Class sizes were very large.

Team Joyce took 5 horses: LH Warsaw, Irish Ace, LH Brittany, LH Beckham and LH King Arthur.

It was there first start in 6 months and all performed very well. LH King Arthur saw his first ever Maiden D Grade  official class  and also being indoors was an eye opener for him. He had the dazzle board jump down, Wes just took him calmly and was very pleased with his attitude.

This is LH King Arthur jumping in the warm up area.

PICTURES ON SIDE:

Irish Ace having a rest!

LH Warsaw looking at whats going on??

The Beast on her first outing in a long time, completed enough for now

to go on the road but we still have more to do yet before we go to Adelaide!

LH  Brittany was ridden by Tiffany they jumped a clean round

in the 1.20m and Wes rode Irish Ace also in this class and was

10 seconds quicker than everyone else but had one rail so not this time josephine….

In the evening a Grand Prix was held starting at 7pm.

This class was very well recieved by many spectators and a

good strong field of very talented horses. Wes rode LH Warsaw and they placed 8th.

On the Sunday we were up early for the Maiden D Grade with LH King Arthur

and he had 2 rails in this class, then Tiffany rode in her very first Mini Prix

on LH Brittany which was 1.25m and unfortunately also had 1 rail but came

out of the ring with a beaming smile of success! That’s what we love to see!!

Irish Ace had 1 rail in the Mini Prix .

Then the last class of the day was the D Grade Championship and Wes came

1st again on LH Beckham!!

So all in all a great show for TEAM JOYCE!!

The”  Beast ” has had a face lift, she is looking like new ” Just a sign to put on the back and a few odds and sods and she is away.

Melbourne 3 Day Event

Tuesday Jun 28, 2011

Team Joyce attended the Melbourne 3 Day Event on Saturday night the 11th June.

The entertainment for the crowd on the night was a Six Bar Competition of an unusual kind.”

Not only did horses compete but 4 French Fellows on foot as well.

Wes rode his youngster LH Beckham and Tiffany rode her trusy steed LH Brittany and Sarah rode that super all rounder LH Folly.

Wes and Tiffany placed equal 1st and Sarah placed 7th.

The French Fellows jumped up to 1.70m they were very impressive!

Team Joyce were very happy with our horses performances, they had not been out since Feb as our truck has been off the road. It was so good to drive off in it and do what we love most as a family :  ”show jump”.
